Hawaii Tourism Authority Appoints Uchiyama

The Hawaii Tourism Authority has hired David Uchiyama as marketing director, responsible for overseeing the association's contracts for leisure, business and sports marketing. Uchiyama, a veteran of the tourism industry, comes to HTA from Starwood Hotels & Resorts, where he was regional director of communications for Hawaii and French Polynesia. His resume also includes management duties with Paradise Cruises, Gray Line Hawaii and Otaka Hotels and Resorts in Hawaii. Uchiyama replaces Frank Haas, who left the authority for a post at the University of Hawaii at Manoa's School of Travel Industry Management.
