Hong Kong Tourism Board Appoints New Chairman

The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) announced the appointment of The Hon James Tien Pei-chun as its new Chairman. Tien replaces outgoing HKTB Chairman, The Hon Mrs. Selina Chow, who headed the HKTB and its predecessor, the Hong Kong Tourist Association, since April 2000. As Chairman of the Legislative Council Economic Services Panel for the past nine years, Tien is thoroughly grounded in Hong Kong's economic sectors, including tourism. Tien will be based in the Hong Kong office, but according to a spokesperson for the HBTA, "Mr. Tien intends to travel to visit HBTA's overseas offices. Mr. Tien is very hands-on and determined to not only maintain Hong Kong's visitor arrivals figures, but to exceed expectations."
