Illinois Attorney General Acts Against YTB

The saga of YTB International continues with Lisa Madigan, attorney general of Illinois, filing charges against YTB alleging violation of the state’s Consumer Fraud Act. In a filing with the Circuit Court of the Sixth District in Champaign County, the attorney general seeks to prohibit YTB from sales or promotion of any “multi-level marketing plan or pyramid scheme” and asks for civil and statutory penalties of $100,000.  The Illinois action follows the California’s State Attorney General winning a $1 million judgment against YTB.
