The Inbal Jerusalem Hotel was selected by the Jerusalem Conventions & Visitors Bureau (CVB) to host the first fam trip for travel agents, which began June 19.

During the trip, several key U.S. travel agents met with top Israeli political and business leaders in order to become better acquainted with what the City of Jerusalem can offer tourists from all walks of life.

Situated in the center of the city overlooking the Old City walls, the 283-room hotel is known for its authentic Jerusalem character and was recently awarded the 2016 TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence award.  Previously, the property was also voted the most luxurious hotel in the TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards, as well as the best hotel in Israel and fourth best hotel in the Middle East by readers of Condé Nast Traveler magazine.

The property has newly remodeled Laromme floors, the most suites of any luxury hotel in the city and an Olympic-sized swimming pool. The Inbal Jerusalem also offers cuisine with menus incorporating both Israeli and Mediterranean offerings, along with other international dishes.

Select U.S. travel agents have been invited by the Jerusalem CVB to participate in the program. Agents will receive education while participating in the FAM which will benefit both their businesses and Jerusalem tourism.

FAM participants will have the opportunity to hear from the mayor of Jerusalem Nir Barkat, Ministry of Tourism CEO Amir Halevy, Ministry for Jerusalem and Diaspora Affairs CEO Sarit Goldstein and tourism director of Jerusalem Development Ilanit Melchior, as well as top Israeli business executives and community leaders. Additional activities are designed so that FAM guests can explore Jerusalem and its “societal ethos”, which include exploring the arts and culture scene, top tourist destinations, business community hubs, historic landmarks and medicine/biotech research centers.
