Nexion held its inaugural invitation-only Luxury Travel Sales Summit for its top independent professional travel agents who are focused on this growing segment in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, from November 11 to 13.
The Nexion Luxury Travel Sales Summit provided in-depth luxury travel sales technique training and included top industry leaders and industry suppliers providing their insights and expertise. This event was for Nexion travel agents with demonstrated sales in the luxury segment and the potential to further increase their luxury travel customer base and sales with key luxury suppliers.
“Nexion’s research shows that luxury travel is among the fastest growing niche areas for independent travel agents to specialize in,” said Nexion President Jackie Friedman.
Because a select number of travel agents were invited to attend Nexion’s Luxury Travel Sales Summit, the intimate group size facilitated networking and provided individual time with each luxury travel supplier partners, Nexion said. The three-day event featured a variety of classes and opportunities to connect with select luxury travel supplier partners, whose executives highlighted not only their companies’ products, but how travel agents can effectively market and sell to their target customers. Speakers included:

- Mark Conroy, managing director of The Americas for Silversea Cruises
- Steve Spivak, vice president of global sales for Tauck
- Perry Lungmus, vice president of luxury travel, Travel Leaders Network
In addition, Nexion’s Luxury Travel Sales Summit attendees were provided with the chance to inspect and explore their choice of two luxury cruise ships – the Azamara Quest and Silversea’s Silver Whisper. AmaWaterways, Crystal Cruises, Abercrombie & Kent and Seabourn provided additional sponsorship for the event.
