MAST Travel Network hosted its yearly Winter Meetings in 12 locations throughout the Midwest with an emphasis on “Adopting New Practices.” The Winter Meetings featured six of MAST’s preferred suppliers at each location, who had the opportunity to showcase new booking platforms, marketing tools, website portals and their latest technology developments.
MAST is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2019 and it’s making an effort to help its advisors focus on the educational theme, teaching them to break from routine business habits so they can remain relevant in today’s travel environment.
John Werner, president and COO, gave a brief update on new programs and benefits, such as a member app. The app provides members with easy access to MAST’s event calendar, featured supplier of the month offers, preferred supplier contact information and more. Werner also discussed MAST’s consumer awareness and PR activities, and details were shared about Xpedition, the travel advisor training program, launched a few years ago that is now expanding to include a fifth series, focusing on Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific.
