Over 450 travel industry professionals are set to converge on New Orleans for Nexion’s CoNexion 2011 conference September 8-10, Nexion reports. Using the theme, “Get Jazzed and Ignite Your Passion,” CoNexion 2011 will provide Nexion agents with fun and interactive learning sessions, along with networking opportunities to meet fellow Nexion members, Nexion staff and its roster of preferred suppliers. CoNexion will be held at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside.
“What better place is there to really ‘get jazzed’ about the travel business than in New Orleans – one of America’s truly unique destinations?” asked Nexion President Jackie Friedman. “We look forward to further igniting that passion for travel among our independent travel professionals by offering a variety of opportunities for them to increase and sharpen their industry expertise and knowledge, along with chances to explore the Big Easy both on their own and through Nexion’s exclusive . Best of all, they’ll enjoy networking with other Nexion members and share best practices to ‘get jazzed’ even more about this exciting business and its potential.”
CoNexion 2011 general sessions will not only feature Friedman, but also Travel Leaders Group Chairman Michael Batt, Travel Leaders Group CEO Barry Liben, Celebrity Cruises Senior Vice President of Sales Dondra Ritzenthaler and a panel of top Nexion agents. CoNexion will also offer six mini-sessions featuring roundtable discussions with 25 of Nexion’s preferred supplier partners. As with previous CoNexions, a highlight during this year’s meeting will be Nexion’s sold-out trade show with 80 preferred partners participating.
Additionally, CoNexion 2011 will offer a total of 30 different workshops via five separate rotations on the following key tracks:

Friedman also noted that CoNexion 2011 will once again provide pre-conference activities that enable the Travel Institute to test Nexion members for their CTA and CTC designations, as well as an exclusive session for Nexion PowerUP. participants. CoNexion 2011 will also offer an optional post-conference ship inspection aboard the Norwegian Spirit while it’s docked in New Orleans.
