Nexion Travel Group Celebrates First Anniversary of Veterans Program

Nexion Travel Group is commemorating one year of Nexion Veterans in Travel and has unveiled an expansion of the program to Canada.

The program, which started in May 2018, teaches military veterans the skills needed to own their own travel agency, so they could enter the world of travel entrepreneurship. Ninety veterans have been given scholarships to be part of the training program during its first year.

Nexion Veterans in Travel provides scholarships for qualified recipients to participate in Travel Leaders of Tomorrow—a program offering a Virtual Campus where students attend lectures from industry experts, study halls, tests, and business planning classes. For their final project, participants do a presentation covering the plan for their travel agency business.

Forty-five individuals participate in the program now. Thirty have completed the training and another 15 are registered for summer classes. The new Canadian version of the program introduced by Nexion Travel Group-Canada is currently accepting applications.

Once Nexion Veterans in Travel participants have finished Travel Leaders of Tomorrow, they can join Nexion Travel Group as members. All Nexion Veterans in Travel alumni will have their membership fees waived for the first 24 months. Additionally, they also have access to specialized career coaching for military veterans. Travel Leaders of Tomorrow says it is grateful to The Travel Institute for donating their course Launching a Travel Business: The Entrepreneur’s Checklist to those who have participated in Nexion Veterans in Travel.

In other Nexion Travel Group news, the company held its ninth annual President’s Circle trip last December—an event that recognized winners of the organization’s Circle of Excellence and MillionAir award. Participants had the chance to connect and network.
