Opportunity for Home-based Agents

An exciting new opportunity for home-based agents was announced by Questex Group Publisher Kerry J. Cannon, Jr. in his opening remarks at the Home-Based Travel Agent Expo on Wednesday. "Based on your standing in the community and your expertise in matching people with the travel experiences they need, we're creating an opportunity for you to nominate worthy individuals, couples, families or groups who would truly benefit from a trip or vacation," Cannon said, referring to a program launching this month in the model of ABC TV's "Extreme Home Makeover." Each month a different trip will be offered. "This morning I'm so pleased to announce that Sandals Resorts has agreed to be our charter supplier for our January contest. They have agreed to offer a fully inclusive trip to Beaches Turks & Caicos for a family of four," Cannon said. Nominees will be posted on the web site, where agents can vote for the most worthy. Home-Based Travel Agent magazine will then feature that family and the agent who nominated them. "We will create a PR package that goes to your hometown newspaper so that you get all kinds of good press out of this," Cannon added. In the coming weeks, agents will be able to visit [www.homebasedtravelagentmag.com] to make a nomination.
