PATA Names Hiran Cooray As New Chairman

The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) has recently named Hiran Cooray as its new chairman.

Cooray comes to the position after years of experience in the tourism industry. He was appointed managing director of Jetwing Hotels in 1987 and from there cultivated a reputation for creating boutique properties in Sri Lanka.

He has also served as a board member of the Sri Lankan Tourism Development Authority and also sits on the board of The Small Luxury Hotels of the World.

Prior to his appointment he served as chairman of PATA's Sri Lankan chapter.
