PATH to Host Ninth Symposium in August, Expects Record Attendance

The Professional Association of Travel Hosts, Inc. (PATH) announced it will host its ninth annual symposium August 19-20 in Washington, D.C. With the American Society of Travel Agent’s (ASTA) Global Convention following the next day, PATH said it expects this year to break its attendance records.

The PATH symposium brings host agencies and suppliers together to discuss effective strategies. Activities include host-to-host only networking sessions and interactive panels on travel insurance, fraud protection, independent contractors and more. The PATH symposium, as well as the ASTA convention, will be held at the Washington Hilton.

The event will start at 1 p.m. Sunday, August 19, beginning with a meeting among PATH host agency members. The next day members and non-members can attend a variety of activities, starting at 8:30 a.m. The symposium finishes with a dinner for suppliers and PATH member agencies. Starting the next day, August 21, and continuing until August 23, ASTA will host its Global Convention.

ASTA is an international association of travel professionals. Its convention offers talks and panels on a variety of topics, such as the relationship between agencies and the law, influencing Congress, cybersecurity, avoiding fines, maintaining integrity, growing business and more. At this year’s gathering, for the first time yet, the association will offer live ASTA Verified Travel Advisor Certification Program courses.
