Jean-Philippe Pérol, director for the Americas at Maison de la France tourism office, has been named chairman of the European Travel Commission, a marketing organization devoted to promoting Europe as a tourist destination.

Pérol (pictured here with Travel Agent Editor Jennifer Merritt) will hold the post through November and he also will retain his position with Maison de la France, a New York-based organization he’s been with for the last 12 years. Pérol’s previous experience includes tenure at Air France and owning a travel agency, Safari Turismo, which folded into Wagon-Lits Tourism. For an in-depth interview with Pérol, click here.
