Royal Caribbean Promotes Two Executives

Royal Caribbean International has announced two promotions within the cruise line's sales, trade support and service department. Joanne Schimelman has been appointed as vice president of sales and national accounts, and Ken Muskat has been named vice president to oversee the growth of the cruise line's consumer outreach efforts.

Schimelman has more than 15 years of experience in the cruise industry, including cruise line sales and marketing. Formerly vice president of national account sales, Schielman handled management of the cruise lines's largest account, including consortia, home-based networks, franchise organizations and online channels. Currently, she manages the daily function of the North American sales force.

For more than 15 years at Royal Caribbean, Muskat's experience includes hotel operations, strategic planning, marketing and sales, prior to his most recent position as vice president of North American sales and current position as leader of Certified Vacation Planning agents. Programs he has initiated include the industry's first weekly online radio show for travel trade and consumers, "Why Not Talk Cruise," in which he also starred.
