Stats: 25.3 Million Cruise Passengers to Sail This Year

Cruise travel is projected to continue to grow this year, according to Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA)’s recently released 2017 State of the Cruise Industry Outlook

An estimated 25.3 million passengers will set sail this year, up from 15.8 million in 2007. Driving the increase will be a slate of new cruise ships, with 26 new ocean, river and specialty vessels set to make their debut in 2017, as well as a new generation of cruise travelers. According to CLIA, more Millennials and Gen Xers than ever before will take a cruise vacation this year, rating it as better than land-based vacations, all-inclusive resorts, tours, vacation house rentals or camping.
