Stats: New York, Cancun Top Valentine’s Day Destinations

New York City and Cancun, Mexico, remain the top destinations for Valentine’s Day travel this year. That’s according to a new study by travel insurance provider Allianz Global Assistance, which reviewed Americans' travel plans for the romantic weekend.

Allianz Global Assistance analyzed travel plans for two people from U.S. airports departing between February 9 and February 11, 2018, and returning between February 10 and February 12, 2018, with a minimum one-night stay.

Domestically, the results show that following New York, travelers are heading to Las Vegas, Boston, Fort Lauderdale and Los Angeles to celebrate the holiday.

The survey also revealed that some Americans are seeking an international getaway to celebrate the most romantic weekend of the year. Cancun, Mexico, tops the international list again, followed in popularity by San Juan, Puerto Rico; Oranjestad, Aruba; San Jose Del Cabo, Mexico, and Nassau, Bahamas.
