Ensemble Travel Group member and travel agent advocate Susan Tanzman, president of Martin’s Travel and Tours, Los Angeles, was recently honored by the Southern California (SoCal) chapter of ASTA as an inaugural recipient of The Diamond Awards.
The award honors professionals with close ties to Southern California who have made outstanding, unique, lasting, and extraordinary contributions to the travel industry.
Tanzman was recognized for her industry activity on many levels both locally and nationally, including ASTA chapter president; national vice president, secretary, and member of the board. She also contributed to the industry as a legislative advocate on the California Coalition of Travel Organizations (CCTO) board and represented the chapter and CCTO as the champion, lead negotiator, and author of many provisions of the California Seller of Travel Law. Tanzman was the first travel agent to receive the honor.
SoCal ASTA President Jason Coleman of Jason Coleman Inc., also an Ensemble member, presented Tanzman with the award. Also assisting with the honors was Ensemble Business Development Director (Mid-Western U.S.) Pamela Irwin, who was recently elected vice president of the SoCal ASTA chapter.
