Tauck World Discovery on Tuesday made some additions to its senior management team. Robin Tauck remains president and Dan Mahar and Deitmar Wertanzl have signed on as chief executive officer and chief operating officer, respectively. Mahar, a former executive vice president with Tauck, is responsible for the company's day-to-day operations. He also is husband to company founder Arthur Tauck's youngest daughter, Kiki. Wertanzl most recently served as senior vice president of fleet operations for Celebrity Cruises, where he oversaw the line's marine and hotel operations. Noting that 2006 was Tauck's most successful year in its 82-year history, Arthur Tauck said, "Our recent successes have set the bar very high for us going forward, and it's only fitting that we augment our leadership team in order to achieve the strategic goals we've set for the growth of the company, and assure our continued success."
