TIA: Summer Will Mark Record High Number of Travelers

During its 2007 summer forecast Thursday, Travel Industry Association (TIA) Senior Vice President of Research Suzanne Cook says summer leisure travel is expected to increase 1.4 percent this summer from June to August. The total number of those travelers is predicted to be 330 million, up from last year's 325 million. Business and Convention travel will grow twice the rate of leisure travel with a predicted increase of 3 percent, which would equal 44 million business trips.
