Travel Insurance Provider Targets Agents

Access America, a travel insurance provider based in Richmond, VA, has redesigned its web site to allow agents to compare products, illustrate benefits and explain covered reasons for trip cancellation. Development of the site took months and includes suggestions made by travel agents. Travel insurance can be a profitable source of revenue for agents. Depending on the policy an agent sells, commissions can reach anywhere from 10 to 35 percent. Policies purchased online also result in higher commission percentages than ones bought over the phone. A virtual tour of the revamped site is available at [www.accessamerica.com/documents/training/virtualtour.htm].
