Travel Leaders Group CEO Barry Liben has announced the promotion of Pam Young – currently Director of Supplier Relations for Travel Leaders Franchise Group – to serve as Vice President of Industry Relations within Travel Leaders Group.

Young will be responsible for developing and fostering relationships with a wide range of tour companies and wholesalers for all brands within Travel Leaders Group. Young first joined Travel Leaders in 1998, which at the time was known as Carlson Leisure Group.
“We are extremely pleased that Pam has agreed to take on this new challenge and opportunity. She possesses tremendous contract negotiation skills and has a built a solid reputation among suppliers as a strong and fair representative for our company,” said Liben. "Moreover, our heart and soul is the travel agency business and by creating a solid Industry Relations leadership team – with both Pam and David Spinelli – we will be able to accomplish even more on behalf of the more than 6,000 travel agencies within all of Travel Leaders Group.”

Young will focus solely on tour companies and wholesalers, which is a vast and growing segment of the travel industry, Travel Leaders said. She will be able to leverage the strength of Travel Leaders Group for all brands within the company while negotiating preferred supplier contracts. Her work will complement that of David Spinelli’s – named earlier this year as Vice President of Industry Relations overseeing relationships with all cruise lines, along with insurance and rail companies for Travel Leaders Group and its various brands.
Young’s prior responsibilities included assessing the financial stability and risk of potential supplier partners, negotiating and executing contracts, and developing sales strategies and incentive programs with supplier partners for all of Travel Leaders Franchise Group. Before that, she spent eight years as a District Sales Manager for Royal Caribbean International.
