Travel Leaders Kicks off EDGE Conference With Record Attendance

The annual conference hosted by Travel Leaders Network officially kicks off today at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center at National Harbor, MD. The conference, referred to as EDGE, which stands for Educate, Discover, Gather, Evolve, will host a record-setting 2,100 attendees this year and include more educational workshops and training sessions, supplier presentations, guest speakers, trade show exhibitors and networking opportunities than ever before.

A combined 210 educational, professional development and supplier workshops will be offered during the sold-out conference and mark the debut of a new customized learning pathways approach to advisor education. Sessions ranging from social media and marketing strategies, closing more sales and making best use of technology tools to how to mitigate legal risks or choose a niche will be offered.

An array of supplier presentations and workshops will take place, as well, with a record 500 supplier partners in attendance, representing a variety of ocean and river cruise lines, hotels and resorts, airlines, rental car and transportation providers, travel insurance companies, destination marketing organizations and more. Several guest speakers are lined up, including motivational speaker Connie Podesta, who will deliver the conference keynote. The conference will also include a trade show and hotel marketplace. In addition to exploring National Harbor, attendees will be hosted at an event at Washington D.C.’s Newseum, which is dedicated to increasing the public’s understanding of the importance of a free press and the First Amendment.
