Travel Leaders Franchise Group President Roger E. Block has announced that Istanbul, Turkey, will serve as the host city for the 2014 Travel Leaders International Summit. The recently opened Shangri-La Bosphorus will be the hotel for the April 4-6, 2014, conference.
Delta Air Lines, a sponsor for the Travel Leaders meeting, will offer a discount on both BusinessElite and economy seating, Travel Leaders reports. Private tours of Istanbul, as well as pre- and post-tour options for destinations in Turkey will be available from both Globus and Meander Travel, Travel Leaders says.
“We’ve carefully selected Istanbul as the venue for our 15th International Summit for two overriding reasons,” explained Block. “First, in Travel Leaders’ 2013 Travel Trends Survey, Turkey ranked second as the top European ‘up and coming’ destination our agents were booking for the year . Second, because of those increased bookings our Travel Leaders members have had, they’ve specifically expressed an overwhelming demand to experience Istanbul in the exclusive, captivating fashion for which Travel Leaders International Summits have become renowned.”
In Istanbul, Travel Leaders members will have the opportunity to immerse themselves into the Turkish culture through private tours, the group says.
"Our Travel Leaders members’ experience is absolutely essential to that of their clients. Because it’s their desire to sell each International Summit destination from a position of expertise, we work closely with representatives from our host city to ensure that they’re able to become fully enveloped in every sense,” Block noted.
Some post-tour options will be provided by Globus for such Turkish destinations as Çanakkale, Gallipoli, Troy, Ephesus, Pamukkale and Bursa. Meander Travel, one of Travel Leaders’ select In-Country Partners, is also offering both pre- and post-tour options including to Cappadocia and Ephesus.
Previous Travel Leaders International Summits have already been mounted on every inhabited continent in the following cities: London (2000), Hong Kong (2001), Paris (2002), Barcelona (2003), Budapest (2004), Dublin (2005), Rome (2006), Dubai (2007), Berlin (2008), Santiago (2009), Jerusalem (2010), Sydney (2011), Dubrovnik (2012) and Cape Town (2013).
