Travelport, OneRez Network Linkup

Travelport announced an exclusive agreement with the OneRez Network to deliver small and disadvantaged business (SDB) procurement to travel in the U.S. OneRez provides a valuable service for contract compliance with Small Business Administration (SBA) guidelines for procurement, and for corporations interested in increasing the use of small and disadvantaged businesses.

“Corporate and government initiatives encouraging the use of SDB vendors is sound policy,” said Keith Harrison, director of strategic content for Travelport GDS. “Travelport is especially delighted to team with The OneRez Network, enabling federal agencies and corporations to incorporate their SDB procurement policies into their travel program. Increasing the use of SDB travel suppliers helps government agencies and corporations meet their small and disadvantaged business procurement goals and we are pleased to help our customers achieve them.”

The OneRez Network is the only database of small and disadvantaged businesses (SDBs) in the travel industry and operates as a third party verifier, Travelport says. It maintains the only listing of qualified SDB hotel properties and car rental locations. The OneRez travel service enables corporations to steer purchasing dollars to name brand small business travel suppliers, and account for those purchases to fulfill SDB participation requirements.

All Travelport subscribers in the U.S., including those who book government and government contractor travel, will be able to leverage the OneRez database and increase their use of SDB travel suppliers. OneRez’s SDB attribute will be incorporated into car and hotel data, and the field will be searchable. In addition, the OneRez SDB content will be distributed as a new attribute on travel management systems powered by Travelport.

Businesses can visit the OneRez.com website to see if they qualify as an SDB, self-certify and join the network. By joining the OneRez Network, SDB hotel and car rental owners can start receiving business based on their business size and ownership status. Name brand franchisees of the major chains and independent properties qualify as long as they meet the applicable SDB criteria. Travel agents can contact their Travelport sales representative for more information.

“Travelport quickly stepped up and made a commitment to working with the OneRez network to support the SDB hotels and car suppliers who make up our proprietary database,” said Brian MacKenzie, president, The OneRez Network. “OneRez is a compliance tool for government and corporate travelers to incorporate SDB procurement into their travel program, a way for SDB qualified hotels and car rental locations to differentiate themselves and obtain new business based on their business size and ownership status.”
