U.S. Issues Travel Advisory For Israel

The U.S. Department of State issued a travel warning for Israel, the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Since Hamas, a foreign terrorist organization, won a majority of seats in the Jan. 25 Palestinian Authority election, the State Department says this governmental shift could cause increased levels of instability in the West Bank and Gaza. The warning also advises U.S. citizens to determine the necessity of travel to Israel, defer unnecessary travel to the West Bank and avoid the Gaza Strip completely.
