Vacation.com Doubles Size of Consumer Magazine

Vacation.com reports it will double the page count of Destination: Vacation—its consumer-focused travel magazine—offering more content, offers and destination information to members' clients.

In a partnership with London-based Absolute Publishing, Vacation.com has redesigned the popular quarterly magazine, beginning with its February 2010 issue. The increased number of pages allows Destination: Vacation to include new features and destinations while still offering the same personalization options to members: including agency name on the outside cover, agency information on the inside cover and two special offers from the agency to their clients.

“Destination: Vacation is the type of magazine people leave on their coffee table for months, giving our members—whose information is prominently displayed on the cover and the pages within—incredible, long-lasting exposure,” said Stephen McGillivray, Vacation.com vice president of Marketing & Public Relations. “With twice as much valuable content, it gives consumers twice as many reasons to contact their Vacation.com travel agent.”

The inaugural February issue will feature enlightening articles on Costa Rica, Denali National Park, Traveling the Great Silk Road, Cooking in Sicily, Luxury Europe destinations, Undiscovered Hawaii, Vienna Revisited, The Perfect Day in London and Martinique, among others.

In response to member suggestions, Vacation.com has added a host of new sections, including travel advice, up-and-coming destinations, details on new cruise ships and ports, featured hotels from its Hotel Elite collection and special offers from its Vacation Vignettes program.

“The call to action on every issue is the member agency, just like it is on the millions of pieces we send travelers every month as part of the Engagement marketing program. Vacation.com keeps our members’ names and value in front of their clients all year long,” added McGillivray.
