Waikiki Announces Hula Conference

On Travel Agent's recent swing through Waikiki, we caught up with Rick Egged, president of the Waikiki Improvement Association. He told us of the just announced International Waikiki Hula Conference, scheduled Nov. 15-17 at the Hawaii Conference Center. The conference - a new event for Waikiki - is expected to appeal to residents and visitors alike, and will include workshops, presentations and performances by noted kumu hula and Hawaiian cultural experts, as well as attendees showing off their new skills. The performances will extend beyond the conference center to include hula shows at all of Waikiki's major properties. "I urge travel agents to regularly visit www.gohawaii.com and access the events page," says Egged. "By informing your Hawaii-bound clients of events that coincide with their visit, you can provide added-value to their vacation." Registration information for the International Waikiki Hula Conference can be found at [www.waikkihulaconference.com].
