The Western Association of Travel Agencies (WESTA) held its 19th annual Preferred Supplier Appreciation Dinner at the McMenamins Edgefield Hotel in Portland, Oregon where the 2011-2012 WESTA board members were announced.

The organization, which is made up of 150 agencies in California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada and Arizona, elected 2 new members to the board: Director Paula Hobble (Focus on Travel, Beaverton, OR) and Director Susan Parr (Susan Parr Travel, Port Angeles, WA).

In addition, three members were reelected to second terms: Director Les Burger (Ladera Travel, Menlo Park, CA), Treasurer Gerrie Flores (East Lake Travel, Yorba Linda, CA) and Director Vicki Hughes (Travel Concepts, Danville, CA).

These five agencies owners will join the seated members of WESTA's board, President Ross Beatty (Beatty Travel Group, Beaverton, OR), Vice President Ginger Minoletti (Bay World Travel, Half Moon Bay, CA), Secretary Dottie Chapa (Madera Travel, Madera, CA), Director Julia Pond (Humberstons Travel, Portland, OR), Director Sue Ann Pohl (Travel Center of Huntington Beach, Huntington Beach, CA), Director Pat Teutschel (California Traveler, Campbell, CA), Director Lisa Koon (Panorama Travel, Coronado, CA) and Past President Dave Wendell (Master Kilbys Travel, Reno, NV) in the management of the group.

In attendance  were representatives from WESTA's preferred supplier group, as well as the members of WESTA's Board, advisory committee and the WESTA staff. The event featured meals prepared by the eclectically Pacific Northwest chefs of the property's Black Rabbit Restaurant, as well as wines and micro-brews produced on-site in the McMenamins Winery and Beer Pub.

Mike Estill, the veteran Chief Operating Officer of WESTA, thanked the suppliers for their support during the year. "In the hectic pace of day to day competition, we often forget to thank those whose support is absolutely critical to this organization's success. We would like to thank you all for taking time out of your busy schedules to attend our event and allow us to express our gratitude for your efforts."
