This year, we are proud to celebrate the sixth annual Vegas Travel Week, for which thousands of industry professionals will converge in the city to attend the travel industry’s key events. Agents should make sure they are in town as Las Vegas rolls out the red carpet.

Attendees of our anchor event, Luxury Travel Expo, being held from December 6-8, should register early to ensure they are eligible for the fabulous prizes we have planned in our Experience Extraordinary program. Agents looking for the VIP experience should take advantage of our coveted Platinum pass. Back by popular demand, the pass brings added value, totaling over $500 in exclusive benefits. The pass now includes preferred seating at the Wednesday seated lunch and general session, exclusive Internet access, networking break treats and featured amenities. Rounding out the pass are private meal functions, the Platinum Bucks rewards program, a complimentary subscription to Luxury Travel Advisor (Travel Agent’s sister publication) and more. The pass is limited and first-come/first-served.

Launched last year, Luxury Travel Exchange returns on Tuesday, December 6. Advisors can count on it for one-to-one appointments with handpicked suppliers to strengthen relationships and generate an information exchange before the trade show opens! Those keen on a hosted position are required to complete an application and will be qualified through a comprehensive screening process conducted by the Exchange’s Attendee Relations Director. Positions are by invitation only and only 100 luxury travel advisors will be selected. The application process will open in summer 2011.

For the under-40 travel professional, the annual Young Leaders Conference returns to Vegas Travel Week. Being held on December 5 and 6, and only for the second time, the conference will bring together tomorrow’s travel leaders in an interactive and engaging atmosphere! Based on feedback from our 2010 event, the format now includes two half-day sessions allowing travel professionals to access the tailored education content and the complete schedule of Luxury Travel Expo programming. Agents who register for the conference will receive a complimentary Full Conference pass to the Expo (a $150 value).

Luxury Travel Advisor will host its 4th annual Awards of Excellence on Tuesday, December 6. Those looking to attend the gala event, where the year’s “best of the best in luxury travel” are honored, will be able to purchase their tickets when registering for the Expo.

Don’t forget to confirm your stay at the host hotel, Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino. Those attendees who reserve in our room block can save 57 percent on the nightly room rate of $129, plus half the nightly resort fee, giving them an additional savings of 60 percent per night!
