Hotel opening postponements are nothing unusual...but a hotel opening ahead of schedule is decidedly rare: The upcoming SLS Las Vegas Hotel & Casino announced today that it would open its doors to the public on Saturday, August 23 rather than Labor Day as planned.
SLS Las Vegas broke ground in February 2013, and construction is reportedly ahead of schedule. The property will be the first new resort to open on the Las Vegas Strip in nearly five years when it opens in August.

Moving forward, SLS Las Vegas’ marquee will count down the number of days until the property officially opens its doors. It is expected to have 1,600 guest rooms and suites as well as 30,000 square feet of meeting space.
With the new opening date set, SLS is now accepting room reservations for stays beginning August 23. Dining reservations for Bazaar Meat by José Andrés, Cleo, Katsuya, Ku Noodle and The Griddle Cafe are also available.
