Ecuador Details Lineup of New Hotels, Tourism Projects for 2025

Ecuador has announced a series of tourism projects set to launch in 2025. With a consistent increase in revenue each year, local and international hospitality brands are investing in the country’s tourism sector. To that point, Ecuador will welcome new hotels and cruises, adding to its existing portfolio of 4,957 hotels and 15 cruise offerings.

According to Ecuador’s ministry of tourism, visitors surpassed 589,000 in the first six months of 2024, with an anticipated annual growth rate of 2.88 percent until 2029, according to Statista. In 2025, Ecuador’s hospitality offering will expand with the introduction of two new hotels by Marriott International and the Ecuadorian hospitality brand Oro Verde.

Located within the airport of its capital city, Ecuador will welcome the debut of Courtyard Hotel by Marriott Quito, well-suited for business travelers. A project by SixStar Hotels and Marriott International, the new hotel, expected to open in summer 2025, will have 84 rooms and provide amenities such as a gym, business center, meeting room, and a grab-and-go market.

With hotels throughout the country, Ecuadorian hospitality group Oro Verde will open its newest property, Hotel Oro Verde Portoviejo, in the western province of Manabí, less than an hour’s flight from Quito. Portoviejo, the capital of Manabí, is renowned for its culinary heritage, making it a prime destination for food lovers. The new hotel, expected to open in spring 2025, will include 71 rooms, a rooftop pool, a gastrobar, event spaces and a restaurant.

In addition, the luxury cruise market is expanding in the Galapagos, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with a new upscale Ecuadorian sea excursion. The Hermes catamaran, anticipated to debut in 2025, offers 12 convertible suites located on the main and upper decks of the vessel. These suites, consisting of 10 double and two single accommodations, have private bathrooms, air conditioning, walk-in closets, mini bars, floor-to-ceiling windows, private balconies and jacuzzis. This catamaran will navigate through all the Galapagos islands including Santa Cruz, Española and Bartolomé, depending on the package and itinerary selected.
