As we all seek to find creative things to do at home and keep us inspired as we wait out the coronavirus pandemic, Imagen de Chile, the nonprofit country brand organization for the country of Chile, is highlighting its free app called Chile 360º for people looking to discover and travel to a place they may never have been. Pretty neat!

Available for iPhone and Android, the app, allows for people can explore the majestic Torres del Paine, the Atacama Desert, the mysteries of Easter Island and plenty of other attractions from the safety and comfort of their home by simply using their mobile device or VR glasses. You can also download your favorite images to your mobile device and enjoy them without an Internet connection, so you can take a piece of Chile wherever you go.

Additionally, there are numerous museums, such as the National Historic Museum of Chile, that are offering virtual tours. Even more, given how Chile is an epicenter for astronomy and observatories in Latin America, for people looking for a virtual, “out-of-this-world” escape, they can take a virtual tour of the Santiago, Chile Observatory provided by the European Southern Observatory website, the foremost intergovernmental astronomy organization in Europe.
