AmEx Business Travel Launches E-Concierge Service

American Express Business Travel announced on Tuesday the launch of its "Intelligent Online Marketplace," which provides an online personal concierge for business travelers. The service enables business travelers to shop online not only for air, lodging and car rental, but for other services such as dining, ground transportation, package shipping, event tickets and audio/web conferencing. The new tool contains inventory from more than 135,000 suppliers and has the capability to recognize a traveler's identity, itinerary details and location. In addition, booked itineraries are loaded into a traveler's Microsoft Outlook or Lotus Notes Calendar and invitations are automatically sent to out for activities such as web or audio conferences.
