Bulgaria Reaching Out to Golf Tourism Market

The Spanish Ferry Group, a family of companies focused on property development, has signed a contract to expand a Bulgarian golf course. The course, located in the Katina village near Sofia, includes construction of a sports complex with pools, tennis courts, a hotel and shopping, the Sofia Weekly reported Thursday. "We chose Bulgaria because we believe the country has a tremendous potential in the tourism area, which is one of the first conditions for developing golfing," Ferry Group President Manuel Ferry Sanchez told the paper.
