Butterfield & Robinson Names Howe President

Toronto-based Butterfield & Robinson, a luxury travel firm, reports that the company has appointed Norman Howe, formerly president and chief creative officer at Horizon & Co., as president. Howe joins chairman and CEO Erik Blachford on the management team.

Since 2003, Howe led Horizon through a successful expansion and eventual sale. In 1994 he left a legal career behind to join B&R as the director of expeditions, eventually becoming the VP of sales and business development.

Butterfield & Robinson was founded in 1966 by George Butterfield, Martha Butterfield and Sidney Robinson. All three are still actively involved in the company as directors and co-owners. George Butterfield stepped down as chairman and president in 2008.

Blachford, former CEO of Expedia, Inc., joined B&R as chairman, CEO and co-owner in 2009.
