Caribbean Ranks Among GO Group' Spring Break Hot Spots

St. Louis Cathedral, New Orleans, taken by Nowhereman86Earlier this month, Travel Agent brought you CheapFlights' Top 10 Spring Break Destinations for 2011. This week, airport shuttle service GO Group, LLC. offered its recommendations for the coming season, with the Punta Cana, Cancun, and Puerto Rico leading the company's top five.

Punta Cana

The Dominican Republic's Punta Cana leads the pack this year. Recognized as last year's top destination for tourists, this area boasts golfing, water sports and scuba diving off Sanoa Island, nearby. All-inclusive packages can be found at resorts throughout the area including PUNTACANA Resort and Club, Cap Cana, Palma Real Villas and Roco Ki.

Cancun

Although Cancun's weather alone makes it top-three worthy (think regular temperatures of 80 degrees), so much more distinguishes this Mexican spring break pick. The nightlife that caters to young singles makes this haven lively. We like its array of resorts that feature all-inclusive packages.

Puerto Rico

Offering a blend of history and beauty, Puerto Rico features a wide range of spring break activites. Spend the week on any of the country's white sand beaches, or explore the rain forests and the mountains first-hand. Take great care to decide upon the area's hiking, scuba diving, water sports as well as the country's shopping, eco-tours and nightlife.

Steamboat Springs

Away from the beaches, Steamboat Springs, Colo., is a still alternative to wile away the hours. Nestled into the Rocky Mountains, the town is known for its outdoor quiet and warm hospitality. Head out on any of the town's dogsled tours, or opt to explore the area by snowmobile.

New Orleans

Music and history make the spring an ideal time to visit New Orleans. We like The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, or Jazz Fest, running April 29 through May 8, 2011. In the French Quarter, the Louisiana State Museum, alongside the National World War II Museum and the New Orleans Museum of Art, rank among our favorites. Wander around the shopping centers of the Riverwalk Marketplace Mall and Canal Place. Then, consider checking out the Audubon Aquarium of Americas.

Available at 60 airports throughout North America, Mexico, the Caribbean and Europe, GO Group has served over 13 million passengers per year. Travelers can make reservations to and from both departure and destination airports on GO's website.
