Collette Vacations On Track to Set Record

Collette Vacations reports key selling features as factors in Collette’s being up 51 percent in passenger names— passengers who have booked a tour and sent in a deposit but who have not been asked to pay in full yet.

“We’ve seen a huge increase in demand for 2010,” says John Galvin, Collette Vacations’ CFO. “In 2010 we will operate more dates and have more guaranteed dates than in 2009. While other tour operators have opted to reduce capacity, the trend we are seeing right now on a weekly basis is actually running better than 50 percent increase week over week. We are very hopeful that departures will be up over 50 percent.”

Benefits that set Collette apart include Door to Door, Collette’s complimentary roundtrip home to airport Sedan service. Launched in April 2009, this personalized service— including all gratuities— is included on many new air-inclusive Collette tour bookings and, beginning in May 2010, will be offered with air-inclusive tours to every destination that Collette visits. This value added service is available in many U.S. cities within a 50 miles radius of more than 90 U.S. gateways.

Collette also offers thousands of guaranteed departure dates as far out as 15 months from now. These dates are Collette’s assurance that a tour will operate on the day it is scheduled and will not be cancelled for lack of participation.

Collette Vacations is a family-owned business headquartered in Pawtucket, RI, and claims the distinction of being the oldest major tour operator in the U.S. Collette offers 125 programs to destinations on all seven continents.
