The Globus family of brands announced that, after five years as president and CEO, Phillip Gordon is taking on a new role as chairman.  Replacing him as president and CEO is another company and industry veteran, COO Scott Nisbet. Littleton, CO-based Group Voyagers, Inc. is the privately held company that markets and sells the Globus family of brands within the U.S., including Globus, Cosmos, Monograms and Avalon Waterways.

“By stepping out of my role as CEO of the Globus family of brands U.S. and reemerging as chairman, I can continue to oversee various aspects of the company – a place I’ve considered ‘home’ for over 30 years – while allowing time to focus on my health and recuperation,” said Gordon, who is in full remission after being diagnosed with Leukemia and undergoing a bone marrow transplant in 2008. “And, there’s no one better, or more qualified, to take the helm as president and chief executive officer for the Globus family of brands [U.S.] than Scott Nisbet, someone I’ve worked with, respected and counted on for more than 11 years.”

As the senior vice president and chief operating officer— a role he’s held since 2004— Nisbet was responsible for the company’s sales, marketing, customer care, product and operations and technology departments. Nisbet will guide Globus, Cosmos, Avalon Waterways and Monograms into the next decade.

Leading the management team at the Globus family of brands, Gordon and Nisbet have helped Globus grow from a tour company with an 80-year history to an industry leader that is not only one of the most recommended tour operator by travel agents, but also an emerging force in small ship cruising (Avalon Waterways) and independent vacations (Monograms).

“Phillip has led the Globus family of brands into exciting, uncharted territory in the last five years,” said Nisbet. “I’m eager to move his mission forward as chief executive officer, working with our business development team to continue to evolve the tour experience and our destination portfolio while building more specialty vacations and experiences through Avalon Waterways, Monograms and our faith-based products.”

In their new roles, both Nisbet and Gordon will continue to work with travel partners, engaging in industry meetings and conferences around the world.
