Pleasant Holidays and Journese Expand Greece Offerings

Pleasant Holidays and its luxury brand, Journese, have added two new destinations in Northern Greece: the city of Thessaloniki and the coastal region of Halkidiki. A total of eight hotels—five in Thessaloniki and three in Halkidiki—are now open for 2023 booking with online rates, inventory and instant reservations, as well as private and shared small-group activities including food and market tours, visits to museums and archeological sites.

Pleasant Holidays now offers over 80 hotels and resorts in the Greek Islands including Athens, Santorini, Mykonos and Crete, plus Greek Isles cruises on Norwegian Cruise Lines and small ship Greek Isles cruises on Windstar.

Airfares in all seating classes, including premium economy, business class and first class, are available daily into Thessaloniki Airport Makedonia (SKG) with connections through major airports in Europe, including London, Paris, Munich, Berlin and Athens. Ground transfers are available from the airport to hotels in both Thessaloniki and Halkidiki. Pleasant Holidays and Journese recommend travel protection coverage to preserve clients’ travel investment and travel advisors’ commission income.

Thessaloniki, a historic port city on the Aegean, is the second-largest city in Greece. It is regarded as the cultural capital of Greece, and is a popular year-round destination. Besides history, culture and architecture, the city is renowned for its shopping and cuisine, especially bougatsa, a flaky, custard-filled pastry.

Often referred to as a “three-fingered paradise,” Halkidiki in northern Greece consists of a triad of peninsulas with sandy beaches, secluded bays and lush forests that meet the waters of the Aegean Sea. It is most popular for summertime travel. Kassandra, the westernmost, is the most visited and resort-oriented; Sithonia, the middle peninsula, with nearly 100 beaches, attracts nature lovers; and the third, the monastic state of Mount Athos, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that includes 20 Orthodox monasteries.
