The Williamsburg Hotel Launches Neighborhood Tours in Brooklyn

The Williamsburg Hotel in Brooklyn has announced nine new bookable tours and experiences taking place throughout the borough. These walking, biking and motorcycle tours offer an insider's perspective on Williamsburg and its neighbors, with specific emphasis on food, local history, street art, and skyline views. Guests can book these experiences directly through the hotel.

The new hyperlocal tours include:

Literary Pub Crawl

This walking and drinking tour includes guides who recite literary tales at various pubs across Brooklyn while guests sip on popular local brews. The tour hits three neighborhoods and covers some of the last sections of historically protected Brooklyn. Through the architecture, streets, and historic pubs, guests will wander back in time while learning of the literary and artistic tradition that each neighborhood fostered. The tour will visit Brooklyn's oldest bar, follow some of the routes of the Underground Railroad, and learn how Brooklyn became famous.

Jewish Cultural Tour

This cultural tour of Jewish Williamsburg combines history with food, and gives guests an insider's perspective of an iconic Brooklyn neighborhood. Visitors are led through the community's shops, eateries, synagogues, schools and historical sites, learning about the faith and value system of contemporary Hasidism, as well as its history. Along the way, guests stop for food at a bakery and deli to taste some authentic traditional recipes.

Sunday “Funday”

Offering an afternoon of beer, BBQ, and booze, this experience also includes history, large-scale street art, views of the New York City skyline and some "Made in Brooklyn" artisanal shopping. With a local leading the way, the itinerary covers New Yorker-approved destinations that showcase the neighborhood's charm and energy. Tour stops include the old industrial buildings of historical Brewer's Row, Artists & Fleas, a guided hot sauce tasting, and waterfront views.

Cruise Around Brooklyn

This motorcycle ride (with a sidecar) takes participants through Brooklyn with a local. Tour stops include spots around Fort Greene, Prospect Heights, Park Slope, Red Hook, Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn Heights and Dumbo, with stories and surprises along the way.

Ride the Bridges

The Ride the Bridges tour offers views of Brooklyn and Manhattan as riders bike across the city's most iconic bridges. The tour starts in Dumbo, on the waterfront and heads across the Manhattan Bridge with views of Midtown Manhattan's east side and Brooklyn. Riders travel under the FDR on a protected bike path and stop for a group photo with the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan Bridges in the backdrop. The tour heads into the historic South Street Seaport, down Fulton Street with views of One World Trade Center, then across the Brooklyn Bridge with views of downtown Manhattan and The Statue of Liberty.

Brooklyn Bites

During this walking experience, guests will discover Brooklyn’s cuisine, guided by local food experts. Participants will visit iconic institutions to sample signature items, including pierogis and pastries at a traditional Polish bakery, bagel bombs and cereal milk ice cream at Momofuku Milk Bar, and artisanal Brooklyn chocolate factory treats. All guides on this tour are working actors, which means every tour includes some history through storytelling.

Brooklyn Bridge & Dumbo Neighborhood Tour

This history-driven walking tour includes stories about the construction of the Brooklyn Bridge while walking across it. Participants will enjoy views of the New York City skyline from Brooklyn. Once across the bridge, guests will explore the Brooklyn neighborhood of Dumbo, known for its galleries, shops and scenic waterfront views. The tour ends at a long-standing chocolate factory in Brooklyn.

Street Art in Bushwick

This art-driven walking tour of Bushwick showcases artwork -- including murals large and small, while exploring the district’s streets. Guests will learn about the top contemporary artists and personalities who are shaping the world of contemporary art.

Brooklyn Bicycle Tour

Led by Brooklyn neighborhood experts, cycle around Dumbo, the Brooklyn Navy Yard, Williamsburg, Fort Greene, Cobble Hill, and Red Hook in this 15-mile tour. The ride starts under the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges on the waterfront with views of downtown Manhattan. Tour participants will pedal on adjustable, lightweight, hybrid bicycles. Helmets will be provided.

The Williamsburg Hotel's new tours range from two to three hours and are led by licensed guides. Activities are available to be booked immediately and take place throughout the week as well as on weekends. Prices start at $30 per person; guests can choose to embark on a group tour or book one privately.
