Tauck: Business Is Back

Phil Cappelli, Director of National Sales chatting with Christina Ramussen of The Travel Group

We spoke to Phil Cappelli, director of national sales, for Tauck World Discovery, and learned that the tour operator is bouncing back from a rough start to 2009. Cappelli told us that clients are going back to their old booking patterns of up to six to seven months in advance, something that hardly any supplier has seen in an economy-stricken 2009.

And Luxury Travel Expo was the perfect forum to relay the message that Tauck is “back in business,” Cappelli said. “It is important to show that we are busy again and to talk about our new products,” he added, referring to the company’s new Iceland and Jordan trips. “We’ve been around for 85 years so we were able to sustain a tough year, but now we are ready to go back to business as usual.”

Check out what we learned from Tauck at last year's Expo.
