It was just announced that Air New Zealand (which is celebrating its 75th anniversary this month) will be launching nonstop service to George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) starting in December 2015.
A Boeing 777-200 aircraft outfitted with Economy Skycouch features, luxury leather seats with leg rests in Premium Economy and lie-flat beds in Business Premier, will be making the trip between Auckland and Houston up to five times per week. Travelers will also be served Kiwi-inspired cuisine and a variety of New Zealand wines and can enjoy over 1800 hours of on-demand inflight entertainment on personal touchscreens.
Tickets are expected to go on sale in May, with flights commencing mid-December.
