Alaska Airlines has introduced three weekly flights between San Jose, CA, and Los Cabos, Mexico. The service, which originates in Portland, OR, joins the airline's pre-existing service to Los Cabos from Los Angeles, San Diego and San Francisco, as well as seasonal service from Seattle.
The new flights operate with Boeing 737-800 aircraft, featuring 16 seats in flight class and 141 in the main cabin. Alaska Airlines, a subsidiary of Alaska Air Group, began service to Mexico in 1988. Since that point it has flown an average of one million passengers per year between the United States' West Coast and Mexico. The airline and its sister carrier Horizon Air combined reach seven beach destinations in Mexico, including Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo, La Paz, Loreto, Los Cabos, Manzanillo, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta.
