ARC Stops Mexicana Airlines Processing

Mexicana Airlines has announced suspension of all ticket sales. As a consequence, the Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC) has stopped processing Mexicana Airlines transactions, effective immediately and until further notice. The airline filed for bankruptcy earlier this week and suspended ticket sales yesterday.

The airline said it would continue to operate flights that have already been sold. Pilots are meeting with Mexico's labor minister to work out a deal with the company's management.

The 89-year-old airline is owned by Grupo Mexicana. Reservation and issuing of tickets for flights operated by Mexicana Airlines have been suspended indefinitely. However, Mexicana Airlines will continue flying in the “interest of protecting passengers who already have tickets and flight itineraries,” the company said.

Travel agents may contact ARC’s Customer Care Center at +1 703.816.8003 or via e-mail at [email protected] with any questions.
