The Nassau Paradise Island Promotion Board has announced that Alaska Airlines will launch seasonal direct flights to the capital of the Bahamas beginning in December. From December 14, 2023, to April 10, 2024, visitors can fly nonstop with Alaska Airlines to Nassau’s Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS) from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA). The direct flights will operate four times a week from LAX and three times a week from SEA.
Good to know: Lynden Pindling International Airport in Nassau is one of the few select airports offering U.S. Customs and Immigration Preclearance and U.S. Global Entry. It is also the first airport outside of the U.S. to implement TSA PreCheck.
Similarly, the St. Kitts Tourism Authority has announced its first-ever partnership with JetBlue, resulting in year-round flights from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airprort and the expansion of United Airlines’ service from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR). St. Kitts, in collaboration with JetBlue, announced the commencement of direct, year-round service from New York’s JFK to St. Kitts, three times weekly starting November 2, 2023. The flight will operate on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Increasing island accessibility will aid in developing the local economy that thrives on tourism.
Alongside St. Kitts’ partnership with JetBlue, the tourism authority has extended its partnership with United Airlines. Beginning December 2, 2023, United will provide direct, non-stop flights from Newark to St. Kitts through August before taking a hiatus until December. This development has supplemented the current flight offering with an additional four months of non-stop service.
Additionally, starting November 1, 2023, JetBlue will introduce a second weekly flight from Boston Logan International Airport. This new flight option will run on Wednesdays, joining the existing Saturday service from Boston.
Lastly, JetBlue will continue to offer its second daily flight from JFK to Barbados’ Bridgetown Grantley Adams International Airport (BGI), through to February 2024. The additional daily flight from JFK comes just in time for travelers to book their flights for Barbados’ annual summer festival “Crop Over,” while the flight out of Boston is expected to be very beneficial for travelers hoping to escape the cold this winter.
