Emirates Lands in Houston

On December 3, Emirates Airlines will launch its new nonstop service between Houston and Dubai. The service will initially operate three times per week and will increase to a daily service beginning February 1, 2008. Flights depart Houston at 6:25 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, arriving in Dubai at 7:35 p.m. the next day. Return flights depart Dubai on the same days at 9:05 a.m. and arrive in Houston at 4:10 p.m. When launched, the new route will be one of Emirates' longest flights-clocking in at just over 15 hours flying time to Dubai and 17 hours on the return flight. Similar services already are available between Dubai and New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport. Emirates said it also has plans for services to Venice in July, Newcastle in September and Sao Paulo in October. Visit [www.emirates.com].
