Emirates has announced the resumption of its services to Bali, Indonesia. The airline had suspended flights to the island in 2020 owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Emirates flight EK398 landed in Denpasar International Airport (DPS) at 10:20 p.m. on May 1. The operating cabin crew of the flight and the passengers were welcomed at the airport with the traditional joged bumbung dance performance, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony in attendance of representatives from DPS Airport.
The restart of Emirates flights to Bali follows the lifting of international travel restrictions and ramping up of global operations.
Emirates flight EK398 departs Dubai at 9:10 a.m., landing in Bali at 9:29 p.m. The return flight EK399 departs Bali at 12:05 a.m., arriving in Dubai at 5 a.m. The airline is operating five weekly flights and will scale up its operations to the island with a daily service starting July 1, 2022.
Emirates has implemented a comprehensive set of safety measures for its passengers. Customers traveling from Dubai can also take advantage of the contactless biometric path at Dubai International Airport for a quicker journey, which involves minimum to zero human interaction.
