Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, announced today the launch of Etihad Vacations, a leisure travel division based in the U.S. and Canada.
Etihad Airways and Trisept Solutions, a travel technology firm, will be collaborating to launch Etihad Vacations on VAX VacationAccess, its vacation supplier platform for leisure travel agents.
Etihad Vacations packages combine Etihad Airways’ products and services with hotel bookings, transfers, car rentals, tours, excursions, family attractions, and safaris. Flights are available to140 destinations in 45 countries, with a focus on Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Maldives, Seychelles, Thailand, and Australia. Agents will receive access to comprehensive content and training about Etihad Airways and its leisure destination offerings to aid in marketing and selling these vacations.
Etihad Vacations (known as Etihad Holidays outside of North America) originally launched in 2004. Etihad Vacations packages will originate throughout North America via its gateway cities of New York, Washington D.C., Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Toronto.
On July 25, Etihad Airways opened its First & Business Class Lounge at Los Angeles International Airport and recently announced plans to provide all-Airbus 380 service on its two nonstop, daily flights between New York’s JFK Airport and Abu Dhabi, beginning next summer.
