Industry veteran Ivan Walter was named CEO of GTA, where he was previously Senior Vice President for Global Sourcing & Product Development. GTA is Kuoni’s business to business provider of ground products and services for fully independent travel (FIT).
The GTA CEO role was previously held by Rolf Schafroth as overall CEO of the Kuoni Global Travel Services Division. Walter’s appointment enables Schafroth to concentrate on his role as CEO of the entire Division, which comprises both the GTA and Kuoni Group Travel Experts brands. He will also be a member of the Kuoni Group Executive Board. With the promotion, Walter also becomes a member of the Kuoni Global Travel Services’ Divisional Leadership Team.
Walter graduated from a tourism management school in Switzerland and holds an Executive MBA. Before joining Kuoni, he managed international sales and marketing activities for a private railway company.
