Beginning next spring, China-bound travelers will be able to ride the rails on upscale multiple-day trips that combine transportation with sightseeing. Kempinski Hotels has been tapped by Tangula International to manage journeys on its two routes, Beijing-Lhasa and Beijing-Lijiang. These new journeys are set to be unveiled in May in the U.S., China and Europe; bookings will be taken thereafter.

Each train will have 48 suites, accommodating up to 96
passengers. Each suite will be fitted with an entertainment system with music,
TV and Internet, and will have a private bathroom with shower.
These trips will provide travelers with new access to landscapes and cultural traditions, says Josh Brookhart, co-founder and CEO of Tangula International.
