Lufthansa Appoints Jürgen Siebenrock VP for the Americas

Big news from Lufthansa: Jürgen Siebenrock has been appointed vice president of the airline's American operations, effective April 1. He formerly worked as vice president of sales and marketing in Germany for Lufthansa Cargo.

Based in New York, Siebenrock will be responsible for the Lufthansa passenger airline organization in North and South America. His remit will cover sales, marketing and airport operations. In his new post, Siebenrock succeeds Jens Bischof, who will become a member of the Lufthansa German Airlines board of sales and revenue management, effective April 1. Jürgen Siebenrock will report directly to his predecessor, Jens Bischof.

Siebenrock is an internationally experienced sales executive who started his career with Lufthansa Cargo in 1990 after receiving his degree in business administration from the University of Applied Sciences Heilbronn. He also holds an MBA from Warwick University, UK.

His previous assignments include principal roles in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) and Madrid (Spain) prior to taking over Lufthansa Cargo’s area management for Latin America headquartered in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) in 1998, and then for the entire Americas region in 2001, based in Atlanta. After more than five years in this position, he assumed his current role in Germany.
